Before the ceremony:
We started the day at Lynn's childhood home.. and I got to spend the whole morning with the ladies!! I started immediately with detail shots of all of their accessories and her dress. This wedding was extra special to me because it was a Catholic ceremony. As a devout Catholic I loved getting to capture different Catholic details such as her rosary! It was so beautiful!
Once I finished the details it was time to start working with the girls! The girls toasted to their favorite bride and took adorable pajama pictures! Everyone looked absolutely and had great energy for the day ahead. From this moment I knew working with this bridal party was going to be SO MUCH FUN! Spoiler alert... it was! Once we finished with pajama photos it was time for Lynn to get in her dress. Her momma helped her get dressed and it was such a sweet moment to capture. She put on her finishing details and we took some bridals of her before the day really began!
Once we finished all of the bridals it was time to head over to the church! There ceremony was at St. Paul Catholic Church in Peotone, Illinois. It was the cutest little church with beautiful stain glass. When I got to the church I immediately took details of the ceremony space before Lynn arrived for her first look with Dad!
Lynn and her dad's first look was so special! I love little moments like these so much. For a girl.. the first man you fall in love with is your dad. Getting to capture that relationship always means the world to me. A wedding day is hard for dad's so when a bride takes the time to make this moment for their dad they appreciate it so much!
After the first look it was finally time for the ceremony! It was such a beautiful ceremony. Between the vows, exchanging of rings, communion, father's homily, and Lynn's offering to Mary I don't know what was my favorite part! The best thing about being Catholic and a wedding photographer is I am very familiar with the mass, so I always know what is coming next and where I need to be. This means I can be even more intentional with my ceremony photos because I know exactly where I need to be for the best shots!
After concluding the ceremony, chapel portraits, and family photos it was time to head over to the reception! The reception was located at CD + Me in Frankfort, Illinois. I have never been to this venue, but it was beautiful! Once I got there I immediately did details of the venue space before any family arrived. I like to keep the settings at untouched as possible before I photograph them. I loved the sage green and cream colors of the reception. If you couldn't tell by the colors of my website... I love that duo!
Then it was my favorite part of the day.. bridal party and bridal portraits. We started with Dan + Lynn to give them some solo time together to take in the fact that they are married, and so that we could take some pictures before another wedding ceremony started. There portraits turned out gorgeous. In any session I photograph I focus on connection rather than posing. I obviously direct you because that's my job, but I want to capture pure emotion. I gave Lynn and Dan tasks and they just had fun together! I always love getting to watch the after ceremony glow and joy that all of my couples have. There really is nothing like it! Listening to them be each others hype man and woman during their individual portraits was also the best thing ever!
Now for bridal party!!
The rest of the night was nothing short of a party! I had the best day celebrating Lynn and Dan! Wishing them a life filled of happiness and love!
